» The greatest gift is to make people feel «
With my art, I want to deeply move people, make them think, trigger their emotions, and help to create awareness about important subjects. Giving a platform to the stories and voices of those who are oppressed and overlooked way too often. And continuously asking questions, even if there are no clear answers.
Some of the recurring approaches within my creative process can be categorized as
affective, experimental, autoethnographic, queer, political, expressionistic, and philosophical.
Driven by both my heart and mind, I love to focus on small details which might seem unspectacular at a first glance. To capture these special moments, amplifying them to show their full potential. Exploring reflections, shadows, lights – the full spectrum of colors. Presenting their intensity, shifting with every moment. Honoring the aesthetics of what could get lost in unawareness and appreciating differences instead of forcing normativity.
“If we see differences as a beneficial chance, and as something that makes life on earth wonderful, rather than instrumentalizing differences in order to oppress others, we can flourish together, instead of pushing each other down in an attempt to climb up the ladder of hierarchy.”
— Stella Weiß 2026
I'm 26 years old, from Germany and have been studying in the Netherlands for more than four years now.
At the AKI Academy of Art and Design, which is part of ArtEZ University, I found the perfect study for me: Moving Image.
Prior to that, I did a 5 month internship at the TV-production-company TangoFilm, based in Munich, which also thought me a lot.
The first study I started was Digital Film Production at the SAE Institute Hamburg, but within the first year I figured out that the school doesn't match what I was looking for regarding my path of education.
And my (rather uncommon) hobby since teenage years is doing SFX MakeUp.
Creating fake wounds or making people look like zombies can be a lot of fun, as well as useful for some productions.
