This project was part of a 2-day Super-8-Film Course at AKI, with guest lecturer Wim van der Aar.
On the first day, every student was allowed to pick a super 8 camera, and got one roll of color film (Kodak Ektachrome 100D, 15m).
For the next three days we had time to record our footage, which we then developed on the second course-day under Wims guidance.
In the end we all watched each others film-experiments together. The film rolls got screened using a projector, and every student could play a song (which they chose themselves) to add a sort of external audio for their film.
I made a very quick edit to combine the digitized video footage with the song I selected for the screening, additionally I made some minor improvements regarding the timing, but it is still very close to the source footage. As soon as I have some time left, I want to make a new edit with a few more alterations in order to match the cuts better to the beat and adjust the brightness.
Personally, I got fully hooked and had the luck to get my own super-8 camera soon after this course (a family gift). I'm very excited for future projects that include working with super 8 film.
