'THE LESBIAN KNOT'

These still scans of rubber bands tied together result from a kind of random desire to do something creative during the summer break.

When I was at my mums place, I felt the tingling in my fingers, and my mind was running: what could I do here right now without my art supplies or my camera?

My eyes wandered to her printer and finally came the relieving thought:

Scanning!

So I started searching for objects, and for the next few hours I kept myself busy with experimenting.

Back then, these scans have already been some of my favorites and I knew I wanted to do something with them, but it took me until the preparation of the viewing, that I found an interesting connection.

This was in a way my own version of THE LESBIAN KNOT, which I tried to generate with Dall•E so often. And during the time it was created, I’ve had no idea of the term lesbian knot, neither could I imagine that within the next month I would be getting into a relationship with my current girlfriend.

For me, this felt pretty funny.

And also created the thought process on how the conscious and unconscious parts of my brain work together - especially in my art.
