The video was created in response to the essay 'The Glory Hole' by Karen Sherman (2017), especially to the following part:
"This is inescapable confrontation with our shared human biology—our skeletons, organs, soft tissue, skin are mostly organized the same. We’re made up of the same stuff. If I stab you, I must instantly discover what it’s like to be stabbed. And vice versa. We know what we do to each other. When we touch someone, they touch us equally."
To me, this last sentence felt totally wrong, even though I can see where she's coming from. And it unleashed a discomforting feeling inside me, waking up dark memories from the past, which then motivated me to create this short film.
If I had to summarize my answer with a few words, it would be:
"The same touch but from a different person, can make what would feel good, to one of the worst things you've ever felt".
